It is one of the four workshops that will be organized toward farmers and agricultural advisers of different departments, partners of Wheatamix: Cher and Indre, Seine-et-Marne, and Loiret and Loir-et-Cher (respectively south-west, east and south-east of the Parisian basin).

Objectives:

- Understanding famers’ practices: motivation, rules for variety association, drawbacks of these practices (seeds management, field management…);

- introducing to farmers the recent results of field trials using wheat blends performed by technical institutes in agriculture or research centers;

- introducing rules to design variety mixtures, as identified in literature, and then discussing these rules with farmers: are they interesting? Are they practicable?

After these workshops, association rules will be proposed for each farmer regarding their specific objectives.

Others meetings in June will allow to choose varieties for blends.

These blends will be set up in farms and evaluated at technico-economic levels.
