Scientifical articles obtained in the French observatory devoted to the study of Organic waste products.

The ESCO MAFOR expertise (2014) highlighted the importance and the need for devices such as the SOERE PRO trialsin to provide data in order to answer questions about the long-term effects of repeated OWPs inputs. In 2018, the Symposium "Soil challenges : the long-term devices" organized by INRA stressed again the importance of having long-term trials focused on key issues such as OWPs recycling in agricultural soils .

The aim of the establishment of the Observatory (or SOERE) was to answer questions about the effect of OWPs recycling on (i) the soil quality of the but also (ii) on the quality of the plants harvested on amended soils, (iii) on the quality of the water circulating in amended soils and migrating to groundwater or surface water, (iv) on the gaseous emissions generated by the spreading.

Experimental sites : supports for research work

The monitoring carried out on SOERE PRO sites allows to study the impact of the OWPs application on soils physical, chemical and biological properties. It also allows to evaluate the possible impacts related to this recycling, such as the contribution of emerging organic contaminants, pathogens and the risks of GHG emissions. The SOERE PRO sites and the acquired monitoring data sets are also the support for simulation and modeling (eg STICS, ROTH C, very long-term evolution of metal trace element contents in soils), the development of effects indicators, to test intake scenarios (eg substitution of mineral fertilizers with organic fertilizers).

The research work conducted in the SOERE PRO is also supported by 2 research projects (ADEME PROterr and PSDR PROleg) which will lead to the addition of the "PRO" module to the MAELIA tool (http: // maelia-platform. inra.fr/; Maelia is a "multi-agent modeling and simulation platform to assess the environmental, economic and social impacts of combined changes in water management standards across the territory, of agricultural and global activities ").

Examples of research work

SOERE PRO results give rise to scientific presentations and publications. Some examples of these works are presented by research theme :
