French research "OR observatory" - Team, supports and collaborations

The richness and the diversity of the SOERE PRO are possible thanks to the actors who work for the observatory: teams, official supports, and scientific partners/collaborations

The SOERE PRO organization is based on:

  • The teams working on the sites, for data acquisition and dissemination, in the animation, communication and coordination of the observatory (see "Teams")
  • A local, national and international partnership
  • The animation and the governance of the SOERE PRO, which ensures the sites networking and teams cohesion

Services and ANAEE-France

The SOERE-PRO is one of the services proposed to the scientific community and other partners by the Research Infrastructure ANAEE-France (Figure) going from services providing services of experimentation (Nodes 1 and 4), specific measurements (Microbial diversity, enzymatic activities, COV… in Node 4), simulation facilities and information system (node 5). The SOERE-PRO is one of the in natura services (Node 3) and it Information System is included in Node 5.

QualiAgro experimental device is one of the candidates to be included in ANAEE-Europe.

Collaborations, partnerships

All SOERE-PRO sites are closely related with research groups: EFELE with UMR SAS in Rennes, QualiAgro with ECOSYS, La Reunion with CIRAD Recyclage et Risque. PRO’spective is the only site without local scientific group but it remains closed to ECOSYS. This strong relationship favours the implication of many students including PhD students working on the sites (see detailed information in the “Volet transversal”).

All SOERE-PRO sites have been developed through collaborations or financial programs with numerous partners including:

  • Agencies as ADEME, Agence de l’eau (PRO’spective, EFELE)
  • Local supports (EFELE, PRO’spective)
  • Private companies (Qualiagro, PRO’spective, La Reunion)
  • Technical institutes related with agriculture (PRO’spective, EFELE)

Many scientific programs contribute to new data acquisition. For example pharmaceuticals results have been financed by ONEMA and ANR, biological data through the program ADEME Bioindicateurs or the SNOWMAN program…. (detailed information  in the Volet transversal).

Other scientific programs use the data for scientific purposes (examples: simulation of C and N dynamics with Century in the Csopra ADEME project by M. Martin, INFOSOL; simulation of P behaviour, E. Smolders, University of Leuwen; work on stoechiometry in the elements fluxes in ecosystems, projet interunité, INRA department EA, I. Bertrand…); Elaboration of soil quality indicators (H2020 “Landmark”, S. Creamer coordination).

Many scientists implicated in the SOERE-PRO participate to the French partnershipstructure Fertilization and Environment (i.e. RMT “Fertilisation & Environnement” http://www.rmt-fertilisationetenvironnement.org/moodle/), to the group devoted to organic residues in the French Fertilization Comity (i.e. COMIFER https://comifer.asso.fr/fr/).

Parallel network, the Reseau PRO

Additionally, a parallel network has been created “the Reseau-PRO” , collecting results of field experiments conducted by partners from technical institutes, chambers of Agriculture… Data coming from “Reseau-PRO” and SOERE-PRO will be integrated in the same information system (see "Site design and management"). Less data have been collected in these experiments that usually lasted only a few years.
