Ce document est une adaptation en française de l’article d’Elena Valdes Correcher et collègues Search for top‐down and bottom‐up drivers of latitudinal trends in insect herbivory in oak trees in Europe publié dans la revue Global Ecology and Biogeography. Nous avons souhaité les présenter sous une forme très semblable à un article scientifique tels que ceux qu’utilisent quotidiennement les chercheurs dans leur travail. Nous attirons toutefois l’attention du lecteur sur le fait que nous avons dû pendre certaines libertés sur la forme et le fond de manière à rendre les résultats plus facilement accessibles. De fait, ce que nous présentons ici n’est pas la traduction de l’article. Nous avons simplifié certaines parties.

Le présent article est ponctué d’encarts méthodologiques dans lesquels nous indiquons la raison d’être de tel ou tel paragraphe. Ils apparaissent en italique.
