José Almeida, from INRA Orléans, France, is just back from a three months secondment at INTA Bariloche, Argentina. He stayed at INTA Bariloche from September the 4th 2015 to December the 3rd 2015. He worked mainly on the measurement of vulnerability to cavitation using the Embolitron, with Guillermina Dalla-Salda, Anne-Sophie Sergent and Alejandro Martinez.

He collected samples of Austrocedrus chilensis, a native conifer of the Andean Cordillera which is distributed along strong altitude and precipitation gradients.

Back at Orléans, he will participate to the development of a new prototype of the Embolitron and will teach INRA staff, colleagues from other institutes and students how to collect samples, prepare them and obtain vulnerability to cavitation curves using the Embolitron.
