About the AT Internet audience measurement tool :

AT Internet's audience measurement tool Analytics is deployed on this site in order to obtain information on visitors' navigation and to improve its use.

The ACCAF Metaprogram of INRA

Climate change has visible effects, like the stagnation of cereal yields in Europe which has been observed recently and estimations indicating that animal production is responsible for up to 18% of greenhouse gase emissions. It is therefore necessary that production systems be adapted to global wamring and that we identify ways that forests, cereal cultivation and livestock farms can help minimize this climate change.

Adapting and being adapted within a changing context

Agriculture activity and natural environments will undergo the main impacts of climate change, requiring important efforts to adapt. In addition, adaptation strategies developed by agriculture will generate positive or negative externalities (notably in terms of greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, water and soil resources) that must be evaluated.

A look at research at INRA indicates important gaps or weaknesses that this program is aimed at mending. Research has up until now been mainly focused on climate change impacts and to a lesser extent, the vulnerability of systems. Few studies have been developed on adapting to climat change, induced externatilities, cost and benefits of adaptation whereas these fields correspond to major socio-economic issues.
