Var-Index

Var-Index: Calculation of the variance of an index

This program allows calculating the variance of an index. Calculating an index consists in integrating the distribution of the proportion of observations within classes, into a single index.

To calculate the variance of an index with Var-Index, you have to:

  • Indicate the number of classes of your index.
  • Fill in a table by indicating for each class the coefficient and the number of observations.

By clicking on the “get variance” button, you will obtain the value of the index, the value of its variance and the value of the coefficient of variation.
