Parameters

A range of parameters are monitored in order to evaluate all the effects of the residual organic products and integrate several approaches to interpreting the data.

Interpretation

Majors elements :

- Organic matter: content, biochemical fractionation, potential mineralisation.

- Nutritional elements: N (mineral, organic, mineralisation of organic N), K2O, P2O5, pending completion.

Chemical properties :

- pH, salinity, CEC.

→ Monitored in conditioners and soils. The nutritional elements are also monitored in harvests (to evaluate their availability).

Fertilising value :

- Ability to restore organic matter in the soil.- Ability to provide nutritional elements for the needs of plants ("fertiliser effect").

- Ability to maintain the pH of the soil (combat acidification, "basic conditioning effect").

Physical properties of soils :

- Structural stability  

- Hydric properties

Biological properties of soils :

 - Monitoring of bioindicateurs

Fertilising value :

- Preservation of the structure of soils (protection against surface crusting and erosion).

- Improvement of hydric properties.- Increase in the biodiversity of soils.

Polluants transfert :

- Monitoring of TMEs (trace metal elements): Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Zn.In soils and composts, the total TMEs are analysed, as well as the fractions extracted using EDTA and CaCl2 methods, which are the potentially mobile and bioavailable fractions.

- Monitoring of total TOCs (trace organic compounds): PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons: 16 compounds), PCB (polychlorobiphenyls: 7 compounds), LAS (linear alkyl benzene sulphonates: sum of compounds), NPE (nonylphenol and nonylphenol ethoxylates: 3 compounds), Dioxins and Furans (17 compounds, phthalates (several compounds)

→ Monitored in conditioners, soils, plants and soil water (TME and PAH).

- Introduction of potentially toxic elements into the agrosystem.

- Evaluation of quantities and the risk for the environment and health.
