Workshop on model coupling

Workshop on model coupling

A workshop on model coupling has been held on the 16th of April 2014.

During this workshop, 5 on-going research works have been presented on the coupling of within-herd models to go to the metapopulation / between-herd scale, on the coupling of epidemiological and immunological models, and on models of pathogen spread along a supply chain. A general discussion has focused on the issues to be addressed concerning model coupling and on possible bridges between these questions for which common work could be valuable within project MIHMES. Main issues were: how to deal with an external risk and how to define neighbouring relationships based on available data? what level of complexity for within-host / within-herds models? How to observed data and to extrapolate? How to ensure efficient models (program optimisation, parallelisation)? When and how models should be shared?
