About the AT Internet audience measurement tool :

NFORMED : Integrated research on Forest Resilience and Management in the mEDiterranean, in Tunisia

2-5 March 2016 - Tunis, Tunisia

Thirty five participants from seven countries attended the 2nd plenary meeting of INFORMED in Tunis 2-5 March 2016, including a visit to Aïn Snoussi case study site. The meeting was introduced by Mr Mohamed Ben Hammouda, Director General of INRAT, Mr Hamadi Habaieb, Director General of INRGREF and Mr Youssef Saadani Director General of the Forests.

The meeting aimed to present and discuss the tools and guidelines developed during the first year of the project, and to organise their implementation in the different case study sites in 2016. The main achievements are the following :

the Stakeholder Panel meeting held during the Foresterra conference in Lisbon has produced a glossary of terms, a list of questions and a choice of potentially relevant ecosystem services that help transdisciplinary understanding ;
a mapping of the 28 case study sites used in the project was done, stressing their links, similarities and complementarities in order to facilitate future knowledge integration ;
a review of existing literature on management strategies for adaptation to disturbances and their results is in progress ;
guidelines for the elaboration of global change scenarios have been developed, which will be implemented in interaction with local stakeholders in the case study sites ;
a first workshop on ecological models and potential model coupling of interest for the project was held, a second one is planned in 2016 ;
a review on the ecological components of resilience is in progress and practical guidelines for their assessment will be proposed for use in the case study sites ;
guidelines for the collection of data required by the InVEST modelling tool have been developed, which will be implemented in the integrated case study sites ;
a Data Management and Access Policy document and a metadata information system, aiming to facilitate multidisciplinary data sharing, are in progress.
