Agronomic impact

Semiaphis dauci occupies the upper surface of leaves and leaflets, then the flower umbels.

Semiaphis dauci causes strong crinkling on carrot foliage, stunting of plants, even arrested growth of young shoots, and accentuated rolling of the leaves where the colonies take shelter. It can transmit the celery mosaic virus (CeMV) as well as several other viruses that depend on the non persistent mode.
