Daktulosphaira vitifoliae is the species known for the devastation it caused on vines in Europe from 1863 to 1893.

Small orange to brown aphid, forming galls on leaves and roots of  hosts plants.

In these species the antenae are short (3 articles) and the cornicles are absent.
