Shu-Chen Hsu will contribute to improving the low-flow forecast capability of the GRSD model

Originally from Taiwan, Shu-Chen HSU holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU), and a master degree in Civil Engineering - Water Management from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), The Netherlands. As a part of her master thesis research, she also worked at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) in Switzerland for six months.

She started her PhD research at INRAE (UR HYCAR) in March 2022, within the Catchment Hydrology research group (HYDRO) in Antony. Her work focuses on the robustness of rainfall-runoff modeling.

As part of the CIPRHES project, Shu-Chen will contribute to improving the low-flow forecast capability of the semi-distributed conceptual model GRSD by enhancing the physical realism of groundwater exchange between sub-catchments. Parameter regionalization strategies comparison will be carried out, and data other than river discharge (e.g. water temperature) will be applied as constraints to ensure the spatial consistency of the model.
