Peter Stuart specializes in the disease ecology of wild populations, mainly mammals, from a conservation approach but also investigating the processes connected with their susceptibility to being infected by pathogens (who is likely to be infected and why?). Currently, he uses the bank vole invasion of Ireland as a model system.

Annetta ZINTL

Annetta Zintl teaches veterinary immunology and parasitology to veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing students as a lecturer in Parasitology and Immunology at the UCD School of Veterinary Sciences in University College Dublin. Her research interests focus on the epidemiology, detection, transmission and control of various parasites with the chief aim of investigating their importance for animal and/or human health in Ireland. Her long-term research interests are common and emerging parasites of livestock and ticks and tick-borne diseases.

Andrew McMANUS

Andrew McManus’ main interests are in the area of wildlife conservation. He is currently engaged in a PhD position working with Dr. Peter Stuart and Dr. Celia Holland. I aim to study rodent-borne pathogens in both invasive and native species. This knowledge will be used to enhance our knowledge on Emerging Infectious Diseases and to help fill gaps in current conservation strategies to manage biodiversity.

Having previously worked on ornithological conservation projects such as the Roseate Tern Life Project on Rockabill Island and the Little Tern Conservation Project at Kilcoole with BirdWatch Ireland, He is keen to keep up my work in the area of conservation biology, while gaining experience working with mammals.
