Andrew McManus attended the Origin's of Ireland's Biodiversity conference, hosted by University College Cork and Fota Wildlife Park.

He presented a poster and a talk on 'Ireland’s Rodents; A longitudinal investigation into rodents and their pathogens, using the invasive species, Myodesglareolus, as a model system.'


- New publication submitted by Marie Bouilloud on the effects of forest urbanization on the interplay between small mammal communities and their gut microbiota.

- Congratulations to Antoine Canet for his Master defense on "Contributions of Epidemiological Modeling to the Study of Rodent Management with Mutual Benefits for Public Health and Biodiversity"


Summer 2023:

- New publication online

Castel G, Alburkat H, Tatard C, Dutra L, Criado M, Bouilloud M, Pradel J, Sironen T, Charbonnel N. In press. Puumala orthohantavirus circulation in its wild reservoir, the bank vole, during the 2021 outbreak of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in Jura, France. Infectious Diseases Now 2023.

- Conference

Jasmin Firozpoor attended the Behavior 2023 conference in Bielefeld, Germany, to present her results on associations between rodent gut microbiome and behaviour in experimental settings. Congratulations for her beautiful and interesting poster.

June 2023 :

French PhD students attended the ISWAVLD meeting in Lyon, France ( to present their results on leptospirosis in rodents trapped in urban parks (MArta Garcia Lopez) and the dilution effect associated with forest anthropization (Marie bouilloud). Congratulations for your great posters.


A new paper by Annetta Zintl et al. on the presence and identity of Babesia microti in Ireland has been published in Ticks and Tick-Borne Diseases

April 2023 : Congratulations to our colleague Maciej Grzybek (Medical University of Gdańsk) who just received the British Society of Parasitology 2023 President's Medal

He presented a great talk on "Biomonitoring and long-term studies on sylvatic rodents in Poland – the good, the bad and the effort." at the BSP conference in Edinburgh.

March 2023 : Submission of a new paper by Hussein Alburkat et al., on the detection, characterization and evolution of Seoul virus in rats trapped in a French urban park, has been submitted to Emerging Infectious Diseases.
