ENSCI - CRD

CRD Center for design research, is a joint research unit of Ecole normale supérieure Paris Saclay (ENS Paris Saclay) - Université Paris Saclay and Ecole nationale supérieure de création industrielle (ENSCI les Ateliers, France leading and top ranked international school of design).

CRD develops a practice-based research approach, organised in 5 axes:Design and science (the building of scientific knowledge and new forms of invention), design in the digital age (augmented bodies, digital spaces, digital imaginaries), Design and ecologies (natural and urban environments, production systems and standards transformations), Design and politics (citizenship, collectives and institutions), Theoretical, historical and critical studies in design

Design and sciences, and Design and ecologies axes include works in life sciences, agronomy and environment (in partnership with INRAE, Institut Pasteur, AgroParisTech, etc.). The Design and politics axe is developed through a research Chair in public innovation in partnership with Ecole nationale d’administration (ENA), Sciences Po and Ecole polytechnique, and with French national center for territorial public services (CNFPT).

The main participants are : Olivier Hirt, Mathias Béjean, Anne Lefèbvre, Guillian Graves, James Auger

The total number of the staff is around 18, PhD and post-doc people included
